Almost 150 students crammed enthusiastically into CCB 100 Wednesday evening to hear "pitches" from the students that produce the programming for Pepperdine’s television and radio stations, TV-32 and KWVS.
A hit-and-run accident possibly involving a vehicle registered with Pepperdine, a suspected drunk driver and a duo of parasailers at Alumni Park kept the Department of Public Safety busy last week. Check out the full reports.
Of Seaver’s eight academic divisions, five will have new faces at the helm this fall. Division chairs are initially appointed four four-year terms, and are eligible for one three-year term following. Social Sciences Division: Steve Rouse Preceded by Department Chair Cindy Miller-Perrin, Professor of Psychology Steve Rouse of the Social Science Division is the department’s newest chair.
As groups of new students are given tours of what will be their home for the next four years, they are shown what will soon become familiar to them: ping pong in the H.A.W.C., basketball games in the Fieldhouse, NSO leaders frolicking in the fountains, step team performances on the sidewalk, and giant bananas being chased around by gorillas— all part of an ordinary day at Pepperdine.
For some of us, these may be our last few weeks in Malibu, and to those I say, “May you prosper in all that you do, and leaving Malibu really sucks for you.” But for the rest of us, we look forward to much, much more.
Now that Pepperdine has risen 5 spots in the rankings of the all important U.S. News and World Reports can we finally stop with the hysteria and the false choice between academic and Christian values. Pepperdine is doing fine.
